Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Compliance to join our team.
The Head of Compliance is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company’s compliance program to ensure adherence to all applicable local laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role provides strategic leadership in maintaining a robust compliance culture and acts as a key liaison with regulatory bodies in Jordan.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance strategy aligned with the company’s goals and regulatory requirements in Jordan.
- Monitor and interpret changes in regulatory requirements issued by entities such as the Central Bank of Jordan, Jordan Securities Commission, and ensure timely implementation.
- Act as the main point of contact for regulatory authorities and manage all communications, inspections, and audits.
- Ensure the company’s policies and procedures reflect local regulatory requirements and international best practices.
- Lead internal compliance risk assessments and audits to evaluate the effectiveness of compliance controls.
- Oversee AML (Anti-Money Laundering), CFT (Counter Financing of Terrorism), data protection, and sanctions compliance frameworks.
- Design and deliver compliance training programs across all levels of the organization.
- Advise senior management and the board on compliance risks and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with legal, audit, HR, risk management, and operations teams to address compliance gaps.
- Maintain records and prepare regular compliance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead the compliance committee.
- Ensure Effective Internal Controls & Segregation of Duties
- Oversee Licensing & Regulatory Approvals
- Implement and Maintain Compliance Manual & Procedures
- Suspicious Activity Oversight & Reporting
- Disclosure & Transparency Obligations
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (Master’s or LLM preferred).
- Professional certifications such as CAMS, or ACCPA are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 8–10 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of Jordanian regulatory environment, including CBJ and JSC regulations.
- Strong understanding of international compliance standards (e.g., FATF, Basel, GDPR, ISO standards).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Fluent in Arabic and English.
- Passed the examinations prescribed by the JSC.
