Description:
The Head of Custody & Treasury owns the end-to-end safeguarding and movement of client and corporate assets—fiat and virtual—within CFIX. You will design and operate a best-in-class custody stack (hot, warm, cold MPC wallets) while optimizing liquidity, capital efficiency, and counterparty risk in line with the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) rulebooks and global best practice.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Custody strategy & architecture
• Define wallet-tiering, MPC key-management, and asset-segregation standards (omnibus vs. fully-segregated vaults).
• Own the Transaction Authorisation Policy (TAP) and approval matrices for deposits, withdrawals, sweeping, and settlement flows.
• Evaluate and integrate custody vendors (e.g., Fireblocks, HSMs, key-recovery providers).
Treasury & liquidity management
• Maintain daily liquidity buffers across fiat/crypto to meet 100 % client liabilities and regulatory reserve ratios.
• Execute funding and rebalancing between hot, warm, and cold wallets; manage omnibus settlement accounts with LPs and banks.
• Optimize float returns through low-risk yield products within approved risk appetite.
Regulatory compliance & reporting
• Ensure custody and treasury controls comply with VARA, FATF Travel Rule, and AML/CFT obligations.
• Submit monthly reserve, net-liquid-assets, and safeguarding reports; prepare audit materials for regulators and external auditors.
Risk management & controls
• Implement real-time KRIs (wallet balances, counterparty exposure, limits utilization) in Power BI dashboards.
• Oversee daily reconciliations (on-chain vs. ledger), escalation of breaks, and incident-response playbooks.
• Chair the Asset Safekeeping Committee and contribute to the firm-wide Risk Committee.
Settlement operations
• Manage end-of-day net settlement with liquidity providers and payment processors.
• Supervise confirmation matching, Nostro/crypto clearing, and CLS-style processes.
Technology oversight
• Partner with Engineering to harden key-ceremony flows, address continuity planning, and test disaster-recovery drills.
• Lead vendor due-diligence, SLAs, and periodic penetration tests.
People & stakeholder leadership
• Build and mentor a high-performing team across custody operations, treasury analysts, and reconciliation specialists.
• Act as the senior point of contact for banks, custodians, auditors, and regulators.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline; Master’s or MBA advantageous.
- At least 3 years in digital-asset markets in a Custody/Treasury role.
- Proven track record designing MPC/secure-enclave wallet infrastructure and managing end-to-end crypto treasury workflows.
- Deep knowledge of VARA rules, IOSCO principles, and global AML/CTF standards.
- Strong grasp of liquidity risk, capital ratios, and Basel-style prudential concepts.
- Advanced Power BI (or equivalent) skills; familiarity with SQL/Python for data analysis is a plus.
