Description:
We are seeking to recruit a highly organized and capable Compliance Officer to join CFI team.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- To assist the Head of Compliance to identify, assess, advise on, monitor and report on the reporting entity's compliance with regulatory requirements and the suitability of its internal procedures on an on-going basis to the Board or senior managers and to the respective supervisory authority upon request.
- To ensure the implementation and on-going compliance of the internal programmes, controls and procedures in relation to the company’s business with the requirements of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act No. 13 of 2014.
- To assist in ensuring that the reporting entity maintains a manual of compliance of the policies, procedures, and systems:
- with a compliance framework, which shall be submitted to the supervisory authority for review, upon request.
- with all relevant anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism legal and regulatory obligations of the reporting entity and the processes to allow the staff to report violations confidentially to the compliance officer.
- to identify the procedures to be followed when there have been breaches or suspected breaches of regulatory requirements or internal policies.
- To assist with day-to-day compliance tasks.
- To ensure the compliance by staff with the provisions of the manual of compliance and the non-compliance of the provisions of the manual shall be recorded, showing the nature, form and period of non-compliance and such non-compliances shall be made available to the on-site examiners of the respective supervisory authority, for examination.
- To be familiar with the provisions of the guidelines that may be issued by the FIU and the relevant supervisory authority;
- To assist the Head of Compliance to the supervisory authority, and the FIU in the matters relating to money laundering, and terrorist financing activities and for compliance with the provisions of the AML/CFT Act.
- To assist with the preparation and submission of an annual compliance report to the supervisory authority for information within 90 days after each calendar year.
Education and Experience
Experience in Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorism Financing (CFT), or regulatory reporting is a strong advantage.
Familiarity with international AML/CFT frameworks (e.g., FATF Recommendations, EU Directives, or local equivalent) preferred.
